NOW Foods Acid Relief with Enzymes contains digestive enzymes that work side by side with antacids, helping to encourage complete digestion of food, even in the presence of reduced stomach acid. NOW Foods Acid Relief with Enzymes thus goes beyond typical antacids, delivering rapid relief from occasional indigestion, as well as digestive enzymes, in a delicious chewable tablet. The use of antacids such as Calcium Carbonate for rapid relief of occasional heartburn has been well accepted. Calcium Carbonate works by neutralizing the acid produced in the stomach. It can, however, slow down the digestion of food when used alone because the enzymes secreted by the stomach only works at acidic pH.

Great supplement
Love that it’s a lozenge. Good taste so no arguments from the teenager taking them😊

Very rough
Well, health wise I’m assuming they do what they are supposed to do but calling them a ‘lozenge’ is a stretch. After the first one (directions say to let it dissolve, do not chew) my mouth got sore. Those things are ROUGH!!! I ended up dissolving them in boiling water (not an easy task) just to get them useable.
Needless to say, after a week or so I quit using. They need to be smoother and actually have the ability to dissolve.
