However, they are reformulating all of their products using a new natural preservative system to ensure your safety and health.

Why do SoCozy products contain Limonene?
Limonene is a scent and solvent ingredient naturally occurring in the rind of citrus fruit. Most issues with Limonene occur when the compound is oxidized or turns rancid. The Cosmetics Database states that "Upon storage and exposure to sunlight and air, limonene degrades to various oxidation products that act as skin and respiratory irritants and sensitizers." Limonene itself is not problematic, but it's the compounds it turns into when it goes rancid. To avoid this from happening, SoCozy suggest you replace their products 18 months after opening.
Why does SoCozy use Butylphenyl Methylpropional?
Butylphenyl Methylpropional is a fragrance additive found in many cosmetic products, it can sometimes act as an allergen and may cause contact dermatitis in susceptible individuals. It is considered safe only within recommended use of concentration. We use an extremely low percentage of this ingredient so it should not be a cause of irritation.
Why does SoCozy use Diazolidinyl Urea?
Diazolidinyl Urea is a preservative to use against bacteria and anti-fungal elimination. Experiments and tests performed on Diazolidinyl Urea have proved that amounts up to 0.5% are safe. Diazolidinyl urea can be a formaldehyde-releasing preservative, and although that may sound scary, the amount of formaldehyde released is well below the recommended limits of exposure.
Why does SoCozy use Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate?
Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate is a preservative used to prevent contamination to products by repelling fungus and bacteria. As long as this ingredient is used under the amount of 0.02%, which theirs is, there rarely is a risk in using this as a preservative in cosmetic formulations.
Why does SoCozy use Methylisothiazolinone?
Methylisothiazolinone is an antifungal preservative that is capable of selectively eliminating living organisms and a wide variety of bacteria and fungi from growing in cosmetics and beauty products; it is approved for use in cosmetics at low concentrations.
Why should I use premium hair care products versus value brands?
Salon quality formulas like SoCozy contain better ingredients that are highly concentrated. Value brands may have some of the same ingredients as salon quality products, but the formulas are often diluted. Value brands can also contain harmful ingredients that buildup on the hair making it dry and brittle, unlike premium brands that nourish the hair and scalp with vitamins, proteins, and healthy oils.
With all the news about "super/mutant lice" has any research been done in the prevention of these lice?
It’s important to understand/recognize that the issue of "super lice" refers to the fact that lice have built up a resistance to the chemicals that are used to kill (eliminate) them, thus making some lice elimination products ineffective. Boo products are not elimination products -they are prevention products that are effective for the purpose of repelling lice. SoCozy proprietary blend of essential oils is a repellant, which keeps the lice away. Cinc
