Ingredient Choices
They choose their ingredients with great care. Their goal is to make everything they make as nutritious and tasty as possible.
- Dried Fruits - Dried Fruits have a long tradition of use dating back to the fourth millennium BC in Mesopotamia. They use them because they taste amazing, have good nutritive value, and a naturally long shelf life. They are a good source of fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, contributing to a healthy digestive and immune system.
- Whole Grains - Whole grains are a healthy necessity in every diet. Whole grains or foods made from them contain all the essential parts and naturally-occurring nutrients of the entire grain seed. This means that 100% of the original kernel; all of the bran, germ, and endosperm is present. Whole grains contain disease-fighting phytochemicals and antioxidants as well as B vitamins, vitamin E, magnesium, iron and fiber. The whole grains they use are pure organic big flake oats and brown rice crisps.
- Oils - They use pure, cold pressed high oleic sunflower oil. High oleic oil is high in unsaturated fat, low in saturated fat, and has no trans fat. The large amount of monounsaturated fat in high oleic oil has been shown to lower LDL cholesterol (the bad kind) without lowering HDL cholesterol (the good kind). When LDL cholesterol goes down, so do the risks of heart disease, heart attacks, and stroke.

What does organic really mean and why do you choose organic ingredients?
When a product is certified organic it means that it is made of ingredients that have been produced without any chemical fertilizers, pesticides or genetically modified plants. The farming practices used to grow organic food are designed to encourage soil and water conservation and to reduce pollution. The benefits are: less chemical contaminants entering your body and farming practices that are better for the environment.
What is the difference between organic and all natural?
The definitions of organic and natural speak to different aspects of ingredient quality. Organic focuses on how the ingredients are grown or raised while natural speaks to how the ingredients are processed. Organic products are made without any synthetic fertilizers, pesticides or genetically modified ingredients. To claim a product is organic it must comply with the USDA Organic Standard. Natural products cannot contain additives or preservatives. Nothing can be removed from the ingredients (except water) and they must be minimally processed. Natural product labelling is also regulated by the U.S. Government. All Made Good products are both organic and made with natural ingredients.
What does Non-GMO mean?
Non-GMO products are free from genetically modified ingredients. GMOs, or "genetically modified organisms," are plants or animals created through the gene splicing techniques of biotechnology (also called genetic engineering, or GE). This technology merges DNA from different species. There has not been any long term testing that can verify the health impact of GMO foods so they choose to avoid them.
Why take the risk?
Non-GMO Project Verified is an initiative started by retailers who felt consumers should have access to clearly labelled Non-GMO products. The seal indicates that the product bearing the seal has gone through the verification process which outlines best practices for GMO avoidance.
What is the difference between whole wheat and whole grain?
