Does Kiss My Face test on animals?
Since their humble beginnings on an organic farm in upstate New York, Kiss My Face has not used ingredients that were tested on animals nor tested their finished products on animals.

In November 1996, Steve Byckiewicz and Bob MacLeod (the KISS founders) along with 11 other cosmetics companies participated in a press conference in New York City that launched the Corporate Standard of Compassion for Animals (CSCA). The standard was created by The Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC) which consists of 9 animal protection associations - American Antivivisection Society, American Humane Association, Animal Protection Institute, Beauty without Cruelty, Doris Day Animal League, Humane Society of the U.S., In Defense of Animals, New England Antivivisection Society, and PETA. According to their brochure, it is the most rigorous standard for companies to pledge their commitment to no animal testing. By using time-tested ingredients (ones with an established history of safety), diligently reviewing raw material information, and utilizing human volunteers in clinical safety trials, no company need ever test on animals again!

Are Kiss My Face products noncomedogenic?
This refers to the use of ingredients that can clog pores and cause breakouts. Kiss My Face does not use ingredients that are typically comedogenic like mineral oil, petrolatum, synthetic colors etc.

What does the word "fragrance" on the label mean?
Fragrance can refer to essential oils, synthetic fragrances or natural fragrances. When properly listed, essential oils are called "fragrance." Kiss My Face primarily uses essential oils only. In some of their original products, they use synthetic fragrances or a combination of the two.

Do Kiss My Face products contain synthetic colors?
No, Kiss My Face does not use any synthetic colors in their products. They use only natural colors like chlorophillin copper complex, mica and mineral oxides.

Where are Kiss My Face products made?
With the exception of Kiss My Face's toothpaste which is made in Italy and their Olive Oil Soap that comes from Greece, all of their products are made in the U.S.

What does Saponification mean?
"Saponification" is the term used for the actual soap-making process. Fat, which in this case is olive oil,
needs a catalyst to be made into soap. Kiss My Face uses Sodium Hydroxide as the catalyst which converts the oils into soap.
