Felix - Wild Natural Lingonberries - 10 oz. (283 g)
Felix Wild Natural Lingonberries, distributed by Procordia, are a wild, natural treat from the Swedish Forests. Produced by low, evergreen shrubs throughout Scandinavia's forests, the tart red lingonberries are much smaller and juicier than their distant cousin, the cranberry. Bursting with natural preservatives and pectin, lingonberries were invaluable to earlier generations of Scandinavians, for they could be kept for months at room temperature simply by placing them in jars of water or by stirring the raw berries with a small amount of sugar to make rårörda lingon, an easy lingonberry jam with no cooking required. The berries contain plentiful organic acids, vitamin C, provitamin A (as beta carotene), B vitamins (B1, B2, B3), and the elements potassium, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus. In addition to these nutrients, they also contain phytochemicals that are thought to counteract urinary-tract infections, and the seeds are rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
