    Barnana

A Simple Hobby Turned into a Natural Energy Food Source Brand

In 1981, Joao Suplicy invented a way to dehydrate whole bananas in a short time and keep their strong flavor and nutritional content intact. The raw bananas lasted for months and Joao shared them with friends and family but no one was as in love with them as his son, Caue. When the family relocated to California from Brazil for Caue to further his triathlon career, the bananas came along and eventually developed into a company as Cuae kept sharing them with friends and built a brand with two of his friends, Nik and Matt.

Utilizing a Zero Waste Approach to Create the Barnana Snacks

Caue, Nik and Matt strive to make use of the otherwise wasted bananas from plantations. Imperfect bananas, those with scuffs or cuts or overripe bananas are usually thrown away by farmers and left to rot or end up in a landfill. Barnana has made use of those, still perfectly good and tasty, bananas by dehydrating them into their flavorful snacks. This helps to ensure that no good product is wasted and Barnana is proud to do their part in keeping the world clean for future generations.

Barnana is Perfect for Professional Athletes and Beginners Alike

Barnana founders like to say that bananas are Mother Nature’s original energy bar. Their claim seems to be true, as a number of professional athletes call Barnana a favorite snack. Those athletes include Polina Carlson, a runner, Ian McCall, mixed martial artist, Lauren Barnett, triathlete, Anthony Napolitano, BMX rider, and Jim Lubinski, a triathlete. Because the bananas are raw in the snack, the nutritional content of the bananas is retained, including its high potassium, manganese, Vitamin C and Vitamin B6. This nutrition palette makes bananas a great snack for pre or post workouts and to maintain energy throughout the day.
