Dr. Woods soaps is the brainchild of Van Woods, son of the New York restaurant owner Sylvia Woods. Van had an idea of producing a healthy, pure soap that would provide natural cleaning. Teaming up with his friend Gary Greenhouse, Van created his first Dr. Woods product – his signature Black Soap. From there, Dr. Woods really began to put down roots and provide more and more natural, phthalate-free, vegan soaps. Today, the company offers a wide variety of scents and properties, including extra gentle types for a baby’s tender skin.
