For topical application and use on the body, be sure to dilute the essential oil in a carrier oil such as sweet almond, grapeseed, jojoba, or olive oil before using. Use about 1-3 drops per ounce of carrier oil. Then use for general relaxing massages or rub into sore, overworked muscles. You can also add 10-20 drops to your bath. Use more or less drops as desired. Lavender Essential Oil is therapeutic for the skin and can help relieve minor sunburns and burns, dermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis because of its analgesic qualities. For this purpose, it can be added to unscented lotions, shea butter, shampoos, and liquid soaps. Lavender will also aid your body's natural healing process. Be careful not to use on broken skin and always dilute.

Lavender Spray for Room, Body, & Fabrics
For an easy, uplifting, and all-natural air, body, or fabric freshener, fill a spray bottle with distilled, filtered, or boiled water (to ensure it's contaminant-free). Start by adding just a few drops of Lavender Essential Oil. Add more drops until it reaches your desired amount of aroma. Shake and spray whenever your air or fabrics need a lift. Mist your hair and body for a quick refresh. It can also be used as a deodorant or foot spray. Spritz on sheets and pillow cases shortly before bedtime to ease your weary mind and help you drift off into a restful sleep.

Environment & Insect Friendly Repellant
You can also use Lavender Essential Oil as part of a blend to ward away insects. It will not kill the bugs but they do not like to be around the scent and will avoid wherever it's been sprayed. You can spray this mixture on yourself and around your home. Simply spray again if they start coming back.

Insect Repellant Recipe: Fill a small 4 oz. spray bottle halfway with distilled, filtered, or boiled water (to ensure it's contaminant-free). Finish filling bottle with witch hazel, rubbing alcohol, or vodka (yes, vodka!). Then, add about a teaspoon of vegetable glycerin if you want to. It will help keep all the ingredients blended together. Go strong with this mixture by adding 15-30 drops of Lavender Oil. Make this insect repellant even more effective by adding 15-30 drops of Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Lemongrass, Rosemary, and/or Lemon because they all have natural insect repelling qualities too. Certain bugs don't like certain oils. So, if you combine all these at once, you'll have all your bases covered! Mosquitos and fleas especially dislike Lavender Oil! If you add vegetable glycerin to this mixture (it's optional), make sure that you spray fabrics with a fine mist and from a distance of about 12 inches to avoiding oily staining.
