How can I trust that UNREAL candy is really NON-GMO?
During development, they go through a painstaking process to ensure that they only use ingredients that are free of GMOs (which is harder than you might think!). Every ingredient, big or small, has documentation to this effect. They are in the process of getting official non-GMO project verification for their products. It's a long process, and they'll keep on working on it!

Is UNREAL candy Fair Trade / ethically sourced?
Doing the right thing by people is just as important to us as unjunking your candy, which is why they source their cacao beans from farms that have been audited for human rights and best growing practices. All of their chocolate is certified by Fair Trade USA, including the cacao, cocoa butter and cane sugar in the chocolate.

Is UNREAL candy organic?
They are not 100% organic, but many of their ingredients are organic. The ingredients panels on their packaging specify which ingredients are organic.

Is UNREAL candy wheat- or gluten-free?
All of their candy has been made with 100% gluten-free ingredients, but they manufacture in facilities that also handle products containing gluten. The "possible wheat allergen" warning is a legal disclaimer to warn people that there may be atmospheric gluten that makes its way into their candy during production. They have tested all of their products for gluten and they all showed results below the level of detection (at below 5 parts per million). (The "gluten-free" threshold is less than 20 parts per million.) But remember, analytical testing is one point in time, and although they are careful to keep all potential cross-contamination to a minimum, there is always the possibility.?

Does UNREAL candy contain tree nuts? Is any UNREAL candy risk-free when it comes to nuts?
The "may contain" allergy warning exists on their products, because all candies are processed on machinery that also processes peanuts and tree nuts. All of their candy products should be consumed with caution should you have any form of allergies.

Is UNREAL candy soy and corn-free?
Yes, none of their product contain corn or soy ingredient components. However, because they share a co-manufacturing facility, there is always the possibility of cross- contamination, even with proper line cleaning between production runs. Therefore, if you are highly allergic to corn or soy, please be advised when consuming their products. Even if the FDA has not listed corn as an allergen of concern and does not require testing, they recognize the challenge this presents to many of their customers and urge you to be careful, even if they, theirselves, do not use any of these ingredients in their recipes.

All of their candy is certified under the same organization, Circle-K. You'll notice the symbol of the letter K within a circle on their packaging.

Do you have dark chocolate products? Vegan products?
Yes, they have dark chocolate peanut butter cups, dark chocolate coconut peanut butter cups, and dark chocolate almond butter cups. And they are working on other dark chocolate versions of their candies. Each of their dark chocolate products is 100% vegan. However, they do not have official vegan certification, because of the potential for cross-contamination with dairy products on their production machinery. How long is UNREAL candy's shelf life, and is it safe to eat after the "Get UNREAL By" date?
Unreal candy with peanuts has a shelf life of 12 months, and Unreal candy without peanuts has a shelf life of 18 months. The "Get UNREAL By" date on the package is the "consume by" date (as opposed to "sell by" date). Like any natural food, it's always best to consume it before its "best before" date (which they think will be easy, as you won't be able to resist eating it as soon as you get it!)
