Discover the Secret of Black Seed
Black Seed truly is an Amazing Herb! For centuries, the Black Seed herb and oil have been used by millions of people in Asia, Middle East, parts of Europe and Africa to support their health. An aromatic spice, small and similar in size to sesame seed, it has been traditionally used for a variety of conditions and treatments related to respiratory health, stomach and intestinal health, kidney and liver function, circulatory and immune system support, and for general overall well-being.

Black Seed is grown in various countries and therefore known by many names such as Black Cumin (Egypt), Black Caraway (Turkey), Kalonji (India/Pakistan), Habbatul Baraka or the Blessed Seed (Middle East), among others. Its botanical name is Nigella Sativa. Ever since its introduction to the United States in the late 1980's, it has been commonly referred to as 'Black Seed' or 'Black Cumin' and often used as a spice in traditional Indian, Pakistani, Middle Eastern and Persian cuisines.

Black Seed's medicinal use has a very rich traditional history that goes beyond ancient Eygptian and Biblical times. Some sources suggest that a bottle containing Black Seed was found in Tutankhamen's tomb and a biblical reference to it is noted in the Old Testament (Isaiah 28: 25, 27). Another important ancient reference to Black Seed's use is from Muhammad, the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) who had declared it "a remedy for diseases except death." (Sahih Bukhari 71:592). Deeper research suggest that it was used as early as the 5th century B.C. by Hippocrates and by Pliny the Elder and Dioscorides.

The first known study on Black Seed was published in 1959 and since then, hundreds of studies at international universities and articles published in various journals have shown remarkable results supporting the benefits and uses of Black Seed alone or combined with other complimentary herbs.

Amazingly Black Seed's chemical composition is very rich and diverse. Aside from its primary ingredient, crystalline nigellone, Black Seed contains 15 amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates, both fixed oils (84% fatty acids, including linolenic, and oleic), and volatile oils, alkaloids, saponin, and crude fiber, as well as minerals such as calcium, iron, sodium and potassium. There are still many components in Black Seed that haven't been identified. But research is going on around the world.

    About Amazing Herbs
When W. Goreja was growing up as a young boy in the US, he would always hear stories about a miraculous little seed that his parents and grand parents would use to boost their immunity and overall health in their native homeland of Pakistan. They would say that by chewing a few grains daily, it would ward off all sorts of illnesses. As he became older and started to inquire about this herb, he discovered that it was called Black Seed or Blessed Seed because it was regarded as a "blessing for all illnesses". What he also discovered is that Black Seed was not only used by his elders but that it had been used for thousand of years in Asia, Middle East and Europe, and was still being used by people in throughout the world as a spice and remedy. When he realized that it might have even greater healing benefits, he began searching for a source of Black Seed in the United States, but soon discovered that nearly no one in the natural health industry had heard of it.

What amazed him was that although no one had heard about Black Seed, there was already research going on in the United States, Europe, and Africa about the health benefits of Black Seed and Black Seed Oil, some going as far back as the 1950's. All of the research showed remarkable results, especially for Asthma and Allergies, Immune Support, and Ant-viral properties among others.

Seeing an opportunity to introduce a unique product to health conscious consumers, W.G. and his late father started producing and marketing nutritional supplements made with Black Seed in 1990. When the first few products were introduced into the market, they discovered that there were practically thousands of people in the US who were aware about the benefits of Black Seed but had no access to it until now. Although, they had originally planned to target the natural health market alone, they found that there was also much interest in Black Seed in various ethnic markets because they were already familiar with its history. Within the next few years, interest in Black Seed grew and more products were added to the line, including cold-pressed Black Seed Oil, a concentrated form of Black Seed that is also a rich source of essential fatty acids.

In early 2000, they launched AmazingHerbs.com. This was a major step for Amazing Herbs as it put their products into the hands of consumers throughout the world, with customers as far as United Kingdom, Australia, and South Africa. At the same time, an increased interest of Black Seed in the U.S. created an opportunity for Amazing Herbs to expand its products into more retail stores. By 2010, there were more than 6000 retail stores in the U.S. carrying Amazing Herbs brand Black Seed nutritional supplements and over 30,000 individual customers using the product annually.

Amazing Herbs is the worlds leading manufacturer and distributor of Black Seed and other Health & Nutritional supplements. Very rough
Well, health wise I’m assuming they do what they are supposed to do but calling them a ‘lozenge’ is a stretch. After the first one (directions say to let it dissolve, do not chew) my mouth got sore. Those things are ROUGH!!! I ended up dissolving them in boiling water (not an easy task) just to get them useable.
Needless to say, after a week or so I quit using. They need to be smoother and actually have the ability to dissolve.
