Providing a Powerful Antioxidant to Support Health
Oxidative stress occurs whenever there is some kind of cellular metabolic activity. These reactions generally result in the formation of free radicals. Ordinarily, free radical damage is limited because the body is able to negate them almost immediately. However, under certain circumstances the number of free radicals becomes greater than the body’s ability to control them. Once this happens, free radicals may begin to cause damage to cells, and even to tissues and organs. In order to counter this possible effect, supplements such as Ubiquinol QH-Absorb 200 mg from Jarrow Labs may provide the antioxidants needed to set things straight.

What Causes Free Radicals to Form?
Every action of the cell uses energy, and when that energy is used an oxygen atom is partially used up. Ordinarily an oxygen atom has two electrons in its outer ring, and this makes it stable. When a reaction takes place, some of the oxygen is used up and in many cases this results in the loss of an electron from that ring. This might be likened to trying to run around with only one shoe on. This atom is now a free radical, and as is the case with someone who has only one shoe and will look for the other, the free radical is now desperate to get another electron to fill its outer ring. The free radical will bounce around trying to take an electron from another atom or molecule and in doing so will destabilize yet another atom. This will go on and on, and may result in damage to the cell.
The Importance of Antioxidants
Free radicals need to be stabilized, and that is exactly what antioxidants do. Because these molecules have an overabundance of electrons in their outer rings, they can easily give up some to the cell, which can result in disease. Once the outer ring of a free radical has the proper number of electrons, the molecule will just settle down and behave itself and stop causing any damage. Ubiquinol is just such an antioxidant and has an out ring that is full of electrons. Adding a ubiquinol supplement may help to prevent oxidative stress and damage.
Ubiquinol Is Made Naturally in the Body
Because ubiquinol is made in the body and is a part of each cell, the question might arise as to why it may be necessary to take a supplement. Well, there turns out to be a very good reason for this. Yes, it is true that our cells make ubiquinol, but several factors may influence whether there is adequate ubiquinol to keep free radical damage low. Throughout childhood and young adulthood there is no problem with the body making all the ubiquinol needed to keep cells healthy. But, after a person reaches the age of 30, the ability of cells to make enough ubiquinol to handle all the free radicals that come about from metabolic processes. After age 30, a ubiquinol supplement may be necessary.
Ubiquinol Provides Other Health Benefits
As scientific research continues into the properties of ubiquinol, one of the positive outcomes may be to provide support for the heart, especially for those who have experienced trouble previously. Ubiquinol appears to suppress the levels of a peptide that has been associated with heart disease. Chronic fatigue syndrome, which may occur after Lyme disease, may be alleviated by the addition of a ubiquinol supplement. Those with chronic fatigue syndrome generally have lower than normal levels of ubiquinol available.

Needless to say, after a week or so I quit using. They need to be smoother and actually have the ability to dissolve.
