La Tourangelle Offers the Biggest Possible Range of Delicious Oils

Pistachio oil, pecan oil, peanut oil, almond oil, avocado oil, pumpkin seed oil, and grapeseed oil are just a handful of the varied oils La Tourangelle aims to put in your pantry. The oils they choose have light texture and distinctive flavors, plus in many cases a whole range of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. Some of their multipurpose oils can be used for beauty and personal care applications in addition to savory, unusual cooking. Traditional methods of processing the oils are used at the company’s Woodland, California facility, using cleanly natural or organic ingredients sourced from the Central Valley.

The Secrets of Medieval Master Roasters Live On with La Tourangelle

A deep culinary heritage stretching back to the medieval era is the foundation of La Tourangelle. The Master Roasters of France’s Loire Valley developed superior methods of roasting and pressing nut and seed oils many centuries ago. Very few now remember these high quality techniques, but La Tourangelle is keeping them alive and vibrant in both Saumur and Woodland. The nuts are hand-chosen, shelled, and then roasted to precise levels in iron kettles to produce maximum natural flavor. Rather than using chemical extraction, the oil is then pressed out using a steel press, producing excellent, clean oils perfect for the wholesome kitchen.
